Research shows that practitioner training in financial education content, behavior change methods, and motivational styles leads to greater impact within programs. For over 10 years CASH has been working directly with nonprofits, government agencies, and others to offer customized financial education training for a range of practitioners.

Locally, CASH has been contracted by both grant making and direct service organizations to review existing programs and identify methods to support the financial well-being of their clients. In this capacity, CASH has provided classroom instruction to case managers to equip them with the knowledge to support their clients as they move toward financial stability. Additionally, CASH has reviewed intake processes, case management structures, existing curriculums, data collection tools, and discharge processes to identify opportunities to embed financial readiness indicators and supports for their clients (e.g., introducing financial stability evaluations, launching financial coaching programs, and financial education curriculum reviews).

CASH has been recognized statewide and nationally as a leader in the field of financial capability. In 2014, Prosperity Now appointed CASH to serve as Baltimore’s Local Network Leader for the Assets & Opportunity Network and in 2017 as Maryland’s State Network Leader. As a Network Leader, CASH has access to national best practices, cutting edge research, and data that allow CASH to work to expand the reach and deepen the impact of asset-based strategies. Network members are on the frontlines of state and local policy advocacy, coalition-building, and service delivery.
