Learn How to Become a Homebuyer with Habitat!
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is now recruiting homebuyers for new and renovated homes in East Baltimore! Take the first step in the Habitat homebuying process and attend a FREE Homebuyer Information Session where our team will provide insight on the homebuyer program, details on what the program involves, and all the benefits that come with being a Habitat homebuyer including a zero-percent interest mortgage and manageable monthly payments that won’t exceed 30% of your households gross income!
Buying your first home can be intimidating. Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake’s Homeownership Program offers 1-on-1 guidance to prepare you to become a confident first-time homebuyer.
Qualifications for the program include:
- Earn 30-80% of the Area Median Income
- Demonstrate responsible credit and bill paying history
- Consistency in income or employment for at least two years
- Willing to partner and complete 250 sweat equity hours
- Healthy debt-to-income ratio
- Able to afford a monthly mortgage payment up to 30% of your gross income
